Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20, 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first female vice president and the most powerful female official in U.S. history, as also the first African American and first Asian American vice president. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served as the attorney general for California from 2011 until 2017 and as an United States senator representing California between 2017 and 2021. Harris was born in Oakland, California, Harris graduated from Howard University and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris started her career in the Alameda County District Attorney's Office prior to being enlisted into the San Francisco District Attorney's Office and later the City Attorney of San Francisco's office. In 2003, she was appointed the San Francisco district attorney. She was elected Attorney general of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she won re-election. Harris was the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. She was a senator who fought for healthcare reform and federal de-scheduling cannabis. A path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legally recognized. The DREAM Act bans assault weapons and progressive tax reform. The attention of the nation was drawn by her shrewd examination of Trump administration officials during Senate hearings. The most notable was Trump's second Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual assault.
